Women Who Hunt
Women Who Hunt
It's about that time of year again. Hunting Season!!! I love to hunt and I just happen to be a woman. There are many women who enjoy the sport even though men like to own it. I am just curious ladies, what are your thoughts about camo, scent-lock, scent discs, rattlers, grunts, compound bows...what do you think? I personally love to hunt with a compound bow, I like to wear camo, but I am not over the top when it comes to covers and scent blocking. My father has been an avid hunter since he was young and he is against all of the novelties. He will smoke out in the woods when he is hunting, he will use the restroom out there, and he does not wear camo. Either he is an exceptional hunter, much better than everyone else, or camo and scent-lock are over rated. Dad bags several dear each season.
I know there are bows for women (supposed to be fore women), but I'm curious what women really like. What is really comfortable. I have target practiced with some bows that really burn the forearm. Have had to wear the extra gear to protect my arm. We are all shaped differently , but I'm wondering what really is most comfortable. What did you bag last season and are you tracking any special big buck this season?
Dino-WHAT?
Dino-WHAT?
Yesterday, my daughter was insisting on watching that dreaded cartoon that she just loves to watch over and over again. I was using the redirect method by showing off that I was looking at Sponge Bob through her view master. It sort of worked, but she wanted nothing to do with the Sponge Bob. "NO, I WANT TO LOOK AT THE DINOHORSE ONE", she screamed. Dinohorse, hmmm, I suddenly forgot my frustration and was laughing really hard. Those are some really ugly horses, if my daughter thinks they are dinohorses. I'm glad for that dinohorse view master slide. Had it not been for that I'd probably still be watching Wonder Pets on loop.
My winter photos
My winter photos
It was that cold day in the Winter of 2006, I threw on some boots and didn't even lace them up. I went out the back door and looked up the hill in amazement, that this glory could be in my backyard. I just so happened to have my camera with me and began to snap shot after shot of different angles and trees in my yard. Sadly, I do not live in the house that is planted on the property where I could go out the back door to see such a wonder. I am; however, so glad that I captured the beauty so that I may take it with me wherever I go and share it with others.
Hunting...
Hunting...
I'd like to get everyone's input on what they think about hunting. I am a hunter. I love to hunt. Spending hours in the woods or in a field appeals to me. I also love the taste of game. It is my belief that if you hunt it (kill it), you eat it. I respect those who feel that animals should not be killed, but preserved. I have my arguments, however. So...what do you all think? Tell me about your stand on the idea of game hunting. Have a story to share? A rant? All are welcome here. Please be tactful.
